“Do You Speak Cinema” – a workshop for children at Avid Learning, Essar House, Mumbai on July 22, 2017

Film Heritage Foundation’s “Do You Speak Cinema” workshop on July 22, 2017 in association with Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival with Star and Avid Learning was a huge success. Shivendra Singh Dungarpur and Irawati Harshe Mayadev took the children on a wonderful three-hour journey during which they learnt about the unique language of cinema.

Children from ages 7 – 10 years old learnt about the evolution of cinema, the early pioneers from Georges Melies to Chaplin to Phalke, and how to tell a story in five frames. They had the rare opportunity to touch and feel celluloid and watch films screened on a 16 mm projector.

The highlight of the day was the arrival of legendary actress Kamini Kaushal who graciously agreed to present the Do You Speak Cinema certificates to the delighted children at the end of the workshop.
